Speech and Drama at Academy Theatre Arts has gone from strength-to-strength recently with acting and communication playing a more substantial role in performing arts of all kinds. Our pupils have the opportunity to take examinations with the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) as well as Trinity College London (TCL) in everything from acting and public speaking through to verse and prose speaking.

All of our lessons are available for adult students on either a private or group basis and we are more than happy to cater for your specific needs whether it be preparing for an audition or brushing up on your public speaking skills.

If you’ve never tried anything to do with drama it’s never too late to begin and you will find that our experienced and friendly staff are able to cater for whatever level you are at. We are official partners of The Worcester Repertory Company and the Swan Youth Theatre and regularly share facilities and resources - something other studios simply cannot offer.

The following pages will give you a break down of some of the drama classes available.

Communication is one of the most important skills that people require in the modern world. Acting skills are all based upon communication and confidence and can be an incredibly useful set of skills to acquire and develop. Classes are based upon team work and creating an enjoyment of the craft. We build confidence and ensure that students move at a pace that is right for them.

Acting / Drama

Ages: 4 - Adult

An excellent way of gaining more confidence is by participating in Speech and Drama Examinations. We use the LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) and TCL (Trinity College London) syllabi and our examinations are co-ordinated in association with the award winning Swan Youth Theatre, whose Patron is none other than Rufus Norris - Artistic Director of the National Theatre of Great Britain.

Due to the staff we work with we are able to facilitate all levels of LAMDA & TCL examinations from entry levels through to Teaching Diplomas through our 16+ Education College Academy Theatre Arts College. We are also a registered LAMDA Centre.

LAMDA & TCL Exams

Ages: 5 - Adult

Academy Theatre Arts can facilitate one-to-one training to provide students with specific skills relating to auditions, casting and entry to Drama Schools.

We regularly work with some of the country's most experienced audition panel members including professionals who regularly sit on the panels for DramaUK Accredited Performing Arts Schools.

Our tutors have also trained students for feature films, television shows, theatrical productions and radio work.
